Our Mirror IR Panels and Quartz Glass IR Panels now come with Wi-Fi connectivity built-in, letting you operate your heater from the comfort of your smartphone or tablet!

Below, you’ll find a detailed explanation that tells you how to connect your Mirror/Quartz Glass panel to your home Wi-Fi network.

Step 1

The first thing you’ll need to do is to ensure that your smartphone/tablet is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, as our panels are not compatible with 5GHz networks. All Wi-Fi routers emit a 2.4GHz signal, though most newer routers also emit a 5GHz signal too.

You can normally tell which band you’re connected to, as 5GHz networks usually have “5”, “5GHz” or something similar in the name of the network.

Step 2

Next, you’ll need to download the Smart Life app. iPhone and iPad users can download it by scanning the QR code on the left, whilst Android users can scan the QR code on the right.

Once downloaded, you’ll need to create an account using your email address.

Step 3

Power on your panel, and ensure that the green override switch at the back of the panel is set to Off.

Step 4

Open the Smart Life app, and hit the Add Device button in the middle of the screen. On the left, select “Small Home Appliances”, and then select “Heater (Wi-Fi)”. At this point, you’ll be prompted to enter your Wi-Fi password.

Step 5

On the back of the panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi reset button for at least 5 seconds. You should see the LED light begin to flash blue rapidly.

Press and hold the Wi-Fi reset button again for another 5 seconds, until the LED indicator begins to flash blue slowly. At this point, the heater is now in pairing mode.

Step 6

Enter your Wi-Fi password on the Smart Life app, and follow the prompts to confirm that the light is blinking slowly.

Step 7

The app will now ask you to connect your phone to the heater’s temporary hotspot. Follow the prompts, and connect your device to the network titled SmartLife_XXXX (there will be 4 random alphanumerical digits where the XXXX is).

If asked by your device, just tell it that you only wish to connect to this network once.

Step 8

Once your device is connected to the SmartLife_XXXX network, hit your phone’s back button, and the app will begin searching for your heater. This process shouldn’t take longer than around 30 seconds.

Step 9

You should see confirmation on screen that your heater is now paired to the Smart Life app. You can hit the pen icon next to the heater name to rename it. You can call it whatever you like, but we’d recommend naming it after whichever room it’s in.
