The Smart Life app allows you to make the absolute most out of your Ionis Wi-Fi IR Bar Heater. Here’s how to use the app with your heater.
Before You Start
You need to make sure your Ionis Bar Heater is Wi-Fi compatible, and that it is connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
If you haven’t done so already, you can view this guide that shows you exactly how to connect your Ionis Infrared Bar Heater to your Wi-Fi network.
Switching Your Bar Heater On & Off
Press the Switch button in the bottom left corner of your screen to switch your Ionis IR Bar Heater on. You’ll see the display switch on on your bar heater. Press the Switch button once more to switch your bar heater off.
Changing Your Target Temperature
Use the plus and minus buttons either side of the temperature in the middle of your screen to change the target temperature of your bar heater.
Switching Between High & Low Power
Press the Gear button at the bottom of your screen to adjust the power level of the bar heater. Level 1 sets the bar heater to 50% power, and Level 2 sets it to 100% power. You’ll see the display on your bar heater change depending on which power level you have it set to.
Using The Timer Function
Press the Countdown button on the bottom of your screen to use the timer function. You can set how many hours you want your bar heater on for here in 1 hour increments, up to a maximum of 24 hours.
Toggling Eco Mode
Hit the settings button in the bottom right corner of your screen.
The first option you can change here is Eco Mode. Toggling this option switches your bar heater screen off, even if it’s still beaming out heat.
Toggling Child Lock Mode
Whilst in the settings menu, the Child Lock button will lock all remotes and apps from controlling the bar heater. When switched on, you’ll see a padlock icon on the bar heater screen, indicating that the child lock mode is enabled.
Switching Between Celsius & Fahrenheit
Whilst in the settings menu, pressing the Change Temp Unit button switches both your bar heater screen and the app between degrees celsius and degrees fahrenheit.
Toggling Open Window Detection
Whilst in the settings menu, pressing the Window Check button will toggle the Open Window Detection on and off.
When switched on, you’ll see an open window icon appear on the bar heater screen, during which if the heater detects a drop in temperature of at least 1.5 degrees celsius within a 3 minute time period, it will automatically assume a window has been opened and switch off.
Toggling The Body Sensor Option
While in the settings menu, pressing the Body Sensor button will toggle the motion sensor on and off.
When switched on, you’ll see a person icon appear on your bar heater screen.
Setting Up Schedules
Hitting the Timer button lets you set up a schedule for your heater. To begin, start by pressing the Add button in the middle of the screen.
We can set the conditions for our schedule step by step on this screen.
First, we can set what time we want the schedule to kick in.
The second option is which, if any, days you want the schedule to repeat.
The next thing we can do is add a note for the schedule. This is completely optional, but can help you identify the different schedules if you create lots of them.
The next thing is whether you want to get a notification on your device when your schedule happens. Again, this is completely optional.
The last thing we can choose is whether we want this schedule to switch the heater on or off.
Once you’re finished, simply hit the Save button in the top right corner. If you want to add more schedules, just hit the Add Schedule button at the bottom of the screen.
