On Renovate, Don't Relocate

Your Theia IR Bar Heater remote gives you access to loads of handy features, all designed to get the most out of your heater. The video below explains everything you can do with your remote.

#1: Before You Start

First off, you need to make sure your Theia IR Bar Heater is remote controllable. If it has a red LED indicator on the front, then unfortunately you have a non-remote controllable model. If it has an LCD display however, you’re good to go!

Next, you should connect your Theia IR Bar Heater to your mains supply. Put the power switch on the unit’s right hand side into the On position. You should see the LCD screen light up, and the Bar Heater will beep.

#2: Switching Your Bar Heater On & Off

Press the On/Off button on your remote to switch your Bar Heater on. The display will change once it is on, and it will also beep. Press the On/Off button again to switch the heater off again.

#3: Adjusting Your Target Temperature

Press the Temp button on your remote control, and you will see the target temperature begin to flash on your Bar Heater screen.

You can now use the Up and Down buttons on your remote to adjust the target temperature up and down in 1 degree increments. Once you’re happy with your target temperature, simply leave your Bar Heater for a few seconds, and it will save your settings.

#4: Using The Timer

Press the Timer button on your remote control. You’ll see the timer begin to flash on your Bar Heater screen. By default, this will be set to 24H.

You can use the Up and Down button to adjust your timer in 1 hour increments. Once you’re happy with your timer, simply leave your Bar Heater for a few seconds, and it will save your settings.

#5: Adjusting The Power Level

Pressing the High Low button on your remote control switches between the different power levels.

By default, your Theia Bar Heater will output at 100% power, however, pressing the High Low button will switch it down to 40% power.

You’ll see the display on the Bar Heater change when it’s working at 40%.

Pressing it one more time will switch the power output to 60%, and the display will change once more.

Pressing it one more time sets it back to 100% power, and you’ll see the display on the Bar Heater change again.

#6: Locking Your Theia Bar Heater

Press the Set button, followed by the Child Lock button on your remote to lock your Theia Bar Heater. You’ll see a padlock icon appear on your Bar Heater screen when it’s locked.

Press Set followed by Child Lock again to unlock your Bar Heater, and you will see the padlock icon disappear.

#7: Toggling The Motion Sensor Mode On & Off

Press the Set button, followed by the Up button to switch Body Sensor mode on. You’ll see a person icon appear on your Bar Heater screen.

Now, the Bar Heater will only power on when it detects motion. If it doesn’t detect any motion for 2 minutes, it will power off until it detects motion again.

Press Set followed by Up one more time to toggle the Motion Sensor off.

#8: Toggling ECO Mode On & Off

Press the Set button twice in a row to toggle ECO mode on. In this mode, the Bar Heater will still continue to function as normal, however the screen will be largely powered off to save energy.

Press any button on your remote control to bring the display back.

#9: Toggling Open Window Detection

Press Set followed by the High Low button to switch Open Window Detection on. You’ll see the word ON appear on your Bar Heater screen.

During this mode, if the Bar Heater detects a drop in temperature of at least 1.5°C within a 3 minute window, it will assume a window has been opened, and will power off. You can override this by simply switching the heater back on.

Press Set followed by High Low one more time to switch Open Window Detection off. You’ll see the word OFF appear on your Bar Heater screen.

#10: Resetting Your Wi-Fi Settings

Press the Set button, followed by the Down button to reset your Wi-Fi settings, and put your Bar Heater into pairing mode.

After a few seconds, you will see the Wi-Fi icon on the Bar Heater screen begin to flash, indicating that it is now in pairing mode.
