At eighty two years old I don't move around quite as easily as I used to, and my bungalow has a narrow corridor connecting the bedroom to the bathroom that has always felt colder than the rest of the house, something my late husband used to complain about regularly before he passed a few years back, and I never quite got round to sorting it out properly until my granddaughter recently helped me address it. She helped me research options online as I'm not particularly confident with computers myself, and suggested this vertical remote control panel given how narrow that corridor actually is, standard heaters having always been out of the question given the tight space available along that particular stretch of wall between the two rooms. She placed the order for me through the website and it arrived within a few days, well packaged with everything needed for installation included. My son in law came round the following weekend and fitted it for me, said it was a straightforward enough job, took him around thirty five minutes including making sure it was positioned at a sensible height given I sometimes use a walking frame in that corridor during the night. My granddaughter spent a good hour with me patiently going through exactly how to use the remote, and despite my initial worries about managing something so modern at my age, it has turned out simpler than I anticipated, with pleasingly large buttons and a clear display. Went with the 1000w version given the corridor is fairly compact. The reason for four stars rather than five is that I've found the remote occasionally needs a firmer press than I can manage comfortably some mornings when my hands are at their stiffest with arthritis, though it's a minor niggle rather than a significant problem overall with an otherwise very positive experience. Being able to adjust the temperature without having to get up, which is becoming more of a challenge for me with each passing year, has made a genuine and meaningful difference to my daily comfort and sense of independence in that particular part of my home. The open window detection feature has given my family particular reassurance, apparently it means the heater won't waste unnecessary money running at full power should I ever forget a window is open, which does happen occasionally given my memory isn't quite what it once was. Overall I remain quite delighted with this purchase despite the minor remote firmness issue, and rather pleasantly surprised at how manageable the whole experience has turned out to be given my initial reservations about the technology being too complicated for someone of my advanced years.

Bought this for the narrow...
Fitted it in the narrow wall space in our bedroom between the wardrobe and window, an area that's always been a dead zone as nothing else fit properly. This vertical remote panel slots in perfectly and the remote means adjusting the temperature from bed rather than reaching past furniture. Ordering was simple and delivery arrived within the stated timeframe. The only issue was the instructions for wall fixings weren't overly clear, causing some head scratching before we worked it out. Once up though, no complaints, heats the room nicely. Went with the 1000w version. My husband fitted it over a weekend, took about forty minutes including the extra fixing confusion. The remote is simple once you get past initial pairing, and the open window detection has been useful since we like fresh air overnight. Would still recommend this, just read up on wall fixing types first if you're unsure, would have saved us some hassle on installation day.
