What’s That Little Blue Light?
Posted by Nikita Murva on 31st Jan 2019
On purchase, you will find our Infrared panels are installed with a blue LED light in the bottom right corner. But what are these for exactly? Let’s find out…
It is no secret that the anatomy of our IR panels is sleek and simple. With no moving parts and every component having a function, there are no unnecessary additions – including the LED indicator.
The products that have this blue light are the Classic, NXT Gen, Frameless, Image and Custom IR Panels.
What’s The Point Of It?
The blue LED light is there as a plain indication if your panel is on or off. When it is shining, the panel will be emitting heat and when you cannot see it, the panel will be off.
This simple addition of this little illuminator will avoid any confusion as to whether the unit is functioning and is also convenient as you can tell from a distance.
With so many ingenious features on the NXT Gen range of heaters, the glow also shows you when your individual settings are at work.
Maximum Energy-Efficiency
We make sure all our customers know about the energy-efficiency of our radiators. By heating objects, rather than the air, using IR technology can save you up to 60% on your energy bills.
The usage of, not just any source of light but, an LED will continue to increase your energy-efficiency. LEDs use low amounts of power and use up to 90% less energy than an incandescent. Not to mention that LEDs only release 10% of heat wastage so you can rest assured that your light is working hard to illuminate.
More Benefits Of LEDs
Like IR heating units, LEDs have plenty of great advantages.
With an expected lifespan of 20 years, with 8 hours of usage a day, you know that the light won’t disappear a few months after buying the panel. This also means it won’t need replacing and inconvenience you or your heating system.
LEDs have an improved Colour Rendering Index and therefore can obtain each illumination light colour on RGB lighting. This ensures the blue light will stay true to its colour and not fade out.
Last, but certainly not least, LEDs will always turn on at 100% brightness with no re-strike delay. This means that it will never distort the look of the panel by blinking and demanding attention.
